  • GRAPEFRUIT as big as PUMPKINS?

We hope you got the message - FREEZING NIGHTS have arrived. If you haven’t brought your plants in, taken measures against bringing PESTS in with them, it’s certainly time… and we hope you have escaped a frost, very possible as the Albuquerque area has a lot of quirky micro-climates. Disconnect your hoses, turn off your timers, and protect your faucets!

How MANY micro-climates and where are they? According to the latest edition of DOWN to EARTH, we have SEVEN, taking soil types into account as a ‘climate’ feature. We have these AMAZING guidebooks in stock - pick one up on your next visit if you really want DETAILED guidance on gardening literally in your NEIGHBORHOOD. Great cold weather reading as you plan for a greener and more bountiful 2023. Speaking of which, or GARDENING SEMINARS will resume in JANUARY!

Living Christmas trees should arrive in the next week or so. We will have sizes from 2 gal to 20 gal in Austrian Pine, Blue Spruce, and Alberta spruce. Buy early for best selection, but a live tree should only spend a week in the house. Just put it on your porch and keep it watered until prime time.

Ristras and pumpkins are on sale, and we're giving away a free "littler" pumpkin with every purchase. We have added several items to our Specials and gone deeper with discounts on several items. Be sure and check out the bargains!

TJ’s SEED SACK happens tomorrow! Join us for the weigh-in and bring your Pumpk Art for the carving contest, with categories and prizes for children and adults! It’s definitely colder this year than last, so we are doing our event indoors with a nice wood stove fuelled with our cedar and pinion firewood, and we are also staying open until dusk so we can display carved pumpkins with lights inside. We’ll have two food trucks on site, so bring the whole family and have a good time.

In just over a year, we nurtured a grapefruit tree...

We’re also giving a sneak peek into our new GALLERY display area with plants that are so nice and unique that they deserve their own space (with a custom built radiant water heating system that just might inspire you to build your own).

Be sure you take a fresh look at our About Us page. We share a video from Simon Sinek, in which he shares his vision: "I imagine a world in which the vast majority of people wake up every single morning inspired, feel safe at work, and return home fulfilled at the end of the day."

Finally, with deep appreciation for her talent, work ethic, and contribution to our entire organization during her tenure here, we bid farewell to Emily, as she has taken a professional position in which her vision can flourish even more grandly.

We appreciate you all, and look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Richard, Jennifer, and Your Gardening Angels
