With so many afternoons like this, you may think that the extra rain is a game changer. Don't count on it. It's nice, but your plants depend on YOU to provide enough water for them to leaf out and flourish.

What is really making this spring so unique is the moderate temperatures. We normally would have been in the 90's a few times by now, but we haven't gotten there yet, and it's been a really stress-less transition for plants to go from nursery to home. How long will it continue? Who knows! But the 14 day forecast predicts nothing above 87, and plants can get VERY happy in the ground over the next couple of weeks.

Should this affect your plans? It's worth expanding your thinking a bit and consider doing more with your landscape, especially shrubs and perennials. And we just put perennials on sale! How about that?
